Iridescent
My fingers take turns
learning your curves,
my lips tag them out
to research your taste.
My ears doing shift work
to memorize your voice,
my nose doing overtime
collecting your scent.
My eyes travel over you,
never tiring of laps
from head to toe
and back again.
Can’t you see
you overwhelm me,
consume me with desire.
You leave my senses spent
and dishonest for they
inadequately tell me about you.
About your softness your grace
and joyful iridescence.
If I forget to pay the bills
or take out the trash
it’s because my mind is stuck
somewhere between
your ears and ankles.
If I don’t pick up milk today,
it’s all your fault
because my my brilliance
is straining to reflect your smile.
You destroy me with a glance
and the boneless
puddle left behind,
If you want it is all for you.
Will you be all for me?
