For the month of April I have another talented male writer to introduce you guys to. Say hello to Vaughan Wesley, everyone! Vaughan posts mostly his own poetry and song lyrics to his blog, @vagabondprophet, and brings his adult married male fatherly perspective into the things that he shares with us. From his personal opinions and feelings, to his experiences working with patients at a hospital, Vaughan has a lot to write about!
Despite the fact that my last spotlight feature was also a male, Vaughan has noticed (as well as many others have noticed) that there is a large presence of female writers on tumblr, and that the men seem to be a little bit in the minority when it comes to poetry on tumblr. With that in mind, it makes his perspective that much more intriguing. He notes, “I feel like a lot of people have this idea that men can be hard, abrasive and calloused to others. Judgmental and closed minded. I hope that my blog and pieces can show that there are men who are more thoughtful and not aggressive. That there are men who are creative and artistic who just want to share their heart.“
On that note, Vaughan is extremely open to hearing your feedback on his work and answering any of your questions, so please, give his blog a look and let him know how ya like it (’cause ya will)! 😉
This was a lot of fun. Thanks again @sarahmariepardy and everybody for the kind words and for reading my ramblings. Very humbling and grateful over here.
