Suburban Pirates

Remember when we were

Suburban pirates

Hoarding all the

Best sticks

For our tree fort

In our plastic war

It all felt so real

I can still hear the screams

I Attila the Hun

Taking hostage

Of the nun

Then you came

A shining knight

Dealt a brutal blight

Now we’ve both

Known defeat

Groveled at

Each other’s feet

Can we make up yet?

Can we be friends again

I’ll give you my

Favourite candy

It’s not poisoned this time

I promise.

Iridescent

My fingers take turns

learning your curves,

my lips tag them out

to research your taste.

My ears doing shift work

to memorize your voice,

my nose doing overtime

collecting your scent.

My eyes travel over you,

never tiring of laps

from head to toe

and back again.

Can’t you see

you overwhelm me,

consume me with desire.

You leave my senses spent

and dishonest for they

inadequately tell me about you.

About your softness your grace

and joyful iridescence.

If I forget to pay the bills

or take out the trash

it’s because my mind is stuck

somewhere between

your ears and ankles.

If I don’t pick up milk today,

it’s all your fault

because my my brilliance

is straining to reflect your smile.

You destroy me with a glance

and the boneless

puddle left behind,

If you want it is all for you.

Will you be all for me?

“Him”

I fell in love not with the way your eyes see me,
but with the way they see the world.
In all the black and gray,
you are technicolor.

Underwater,
you are the air that I breathe.
You are the fresh scent
of tulip dressed meadows.

I’ll cling to you
like the sun afraid to set…
like the stars afraid to dim…
And I will kiss you
like the tide kisses the shore.

vagabondprophet:

Discarded

To dive headlong

Into the ravine

The vee cut neckline

Plunging into the bosom

Of mother nature herself

To die of despair

A pendulum in the air

To swallow handfuls of madness

To dull the crowding sadness

All of these deaths I abhor

But cruelest yet

Is that you ignore

Not a glance, whisper, or touch.

Discarded

Like coupons from a store

You no longer frequent.
