How quickly I became bankrupt
In the absence of yourself,
I didn’t know until I left you forlorn
Abandoned in the far reaches of the echo
That I’d been living cup to cup
For a love now gone cold.

When I return let there yet be
Some faint embers left in which
We can partake.

Vagabond Prophet

– This is what happens when a guy like me forgets his coffee at home before work starts.

Everything

You’re shapeless and that’s hard sometimes

I try to picture you and my mind just swirls

Like cream poured slowly into coffee.

This one thing helps,

That you’ve shaped everything I’ve ever loved.

Every contour and edge,

All the care and strength transcendent.

Everything captures much,

Nothing escapes that net called “everything”

Except you.

– Vagabond Prophet

vagabondprophet:

Percolator Love

You’ve been percolating

Just for me,

While I imitate life.

When I’m weary and afflicted

From a fitful sleep, fears reoccurred,

You’re waiting for me.

Epitome of bittersweet,

Bitter enough I need you,

Sweet enough I want you.

Electrify my mind,

Like soul adrenaline

I’ll dance if you ask.

Could we be like before?

When I’d stay up all night,

Just to be with you?

Nowadays more like a crutch,

Keeping weariness at bay

And I hate that.

I want the excitement again

Of first love’s

First sip.

But coffee my dear,

How ever far you stray

You still make my day.

– Vagabond Prophet

vagabondprophet:

You don’t make your coffee like this?

Then you’re doing it wrong,

If water and grounds don’t

Spend time loving each other

What magic can there be?

Your mug deserves better,

Give it the devotion it deserves.

It’s worked so hard

To stimulate your mind

With weak and empty brews.

Instant coffee, pah

More like disdain right now!

Give it time trust me

And it’ll give fertile soil

For the seeds in your soul.
